Forum Landtag is a transformation project in which the existing visitor center of the Parliament of Lower Austria in Sankt Pölten has been converted into a contemporary place for education and encounter. It is located about half an hour from Vienna.
In the new Forum Landtag, visitors are introduced to democracy, politics, and society through a thematic exhibition. It is a dynamic space with interactive installations and flowing forms that create an impression of movement and light. The softly reflective aluminum walls mirror each visitor’s image, allowing their own presence to merge with the layers of political representation.
The redesign of the entrance area not only creates a clear and representative gateway to the visitor center, but also provides a meeting space and place to stay for visitors and passersby.
Studio MAKS won the competition in 2020. The project was completed in 2022 and won the Red Dot Award in 2023.
